A message from our new Chairman, Nick Pyle

I was delighted to accept the offer of becoming Chairman of Trustees of the Duke of Edinburgh Cup though the thought of filling the rather large shoes of my predecessor, Brigadier John Smedley, did make me pause momentarily! I’d like to thank John for his sterling efforts and say how grateful I am that he has agreed to stay on as a Trustee.

International Golf for Youth, the limited company that underpins the Duke of Edinburgh Cup, struggled as many entities did through the Covid pandemic and whilst we have come through it, we are still in the recovery stage.  Trustees are working hard to grow the Charity and with more events both worldwide and in the UK on the horizon, the future looks bright.

If you are reading this, then you are either supporting or thinking of supporting the Duke of Edinburgh Cup as a player or sponsor.  For those of you who are active, thank you.  For those of you who are new to the Charity, I do encourage you to watch the welcoming video His Royal Highness the Earl of Wessex, now the Duke of Edinburgh, made to promote the work we do. It sums up perfectly what the Charity it is all about, how we operate and how you can help.  The video can be accessed here at https://player.vimeo.com/video/645119617

For those of you who are considering supporting us, please do so in any way you can. The Duke of Edinburgh Cup really does make a difference to the lives of young people and children around the world.  This can only be done with your help.

Thank you.

Nick Pyle
