This year the UK qualifying event took place on Thursday 10th September 2020 at the Archerfield Dirleton Course, the first time the event has been held in Scotland.
A total of 62 players took part, a tremendous achievement given the Covid-19 travel restrictions imposed on those coming from the Glasgow area a couple of days before the event. Gordon Nisbet and Douglas Gold were the winners with a better ball score of 43 Stableford Points.
The day ran with a rolling format because of COVID-19 restrictions, and it was not possible to have a live auction nor a formal prize-giving at the end. Fundraising activities took the form of entry to on course challenges, a random number prize draw and a silent auction.
My special thanks to Alan Shearer who stepped in as a late replacement for Graeme Souness, Vice President of DEBRA, who was unable to travel on the day, and ATFX for their continued support, and for helping us deliver a DOE Cup qualifying event against all the odds.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the players who took part on the day. I look forward to seeing the winners at the World Finals at Windsor in late September 2021.
